Finance chiefs also report receiving multiple calls on the day before quarterly results are released from analysts hoping to get a read on the quarter based on the CFO’s tone of voice. Some have found analysts consistently publishing higher earnings estimates than the company’s guidance suggests is feasible, only to slam the company in a report when it fails to hit the higher number.
