Each day brings a fresh batch of market rumors. Even companies that deny that they are in merger talks still see their shares rise on investors’ hopes that a bid may eventually emerge.

Medium sized M&A deals create more long-term value
Medium sized deals consistently outperformed the global MSCI index by around 7% over six months and after 18 months. “Mega-deals” initially outperformed the market by nearly 14 percent in the first six months but this falls dramatically to only 1.1 percent at 18 months.

Is The SEC Afraid Of The Elite On Wall Street?
For as long as there has been an SEC, there’s been criticism that the commission is soft on Wall Street and favors the big banks it’s supposed to be policing. Big shots at the level of Morgan Stanley’s (MS) Mack are said to enjoy special protection.

PotashCorp Top Corporate Reporter for Third Consecutive Year
PotashCorp is the first company to receive this award in three consecutive years.

HP in $14.5m settlement after leak crisis
Hewlett-Packard has agreed to pay $14.5m to settle civil claims brought by California’s top prosecutor in the wake of an internal investigation into boardroom leaks that plunged the computer maker into crisis this year.
