I agree that a blog is the voice of an individual, and I would say that the Google Blog is the voice of that individual company written as an individual speaking to those interested in the company’s work. I would furthermore note that Google has MANY places for users to comment on features, problems, and upcoming products. Perhaps they feel that the Blog itself is not the place for such comments?

May I commend Dominic Jones for this post? I read through it with no effort at all, although English is not my mother tongue :)
The way this post is written makes me feel involved; it makes me feel I want … and I CAN … have my say; I’m interested in understanding how a Blog “can be used” … towards managing cross-cultural relationships; I do not believe understanding such a thing should start from a definition of what a Blog “is”; I would rather start “exploring” how it might be used towards a given goal … and I would wait until I find out how far it can take me … before I know what needs to be added, or changed, to make further progress, before I look back and try to offer my opinion on “what a Blog is”.
Thank you for the opportunity to have my say :) and … I like the comment previewing offered here … it makes me feel “at ease” :) )

    Hi all,
I agree with what Luigi said… in my opinion, it’s more important what a blog is for, and not if you can comment or not… And if you think about it, whenever you create a new blog on the various platforms out there (Blogger, Splinder, etc…) you always have the opportunity to “turn off” comments, which means that a blog can also exists without comments… right? From this point of view, a blog can also be a one-way method of communication, and still being called a blog… :)
    Greetings from Ireland!
