Michael K. Lawson: Associated Estates Realty Corporation
Associated Estates Realty Corporation (NYSE: AEC) has apppointed Michael K. Lawson vice president of investor relations and corporate communications.
Before joining AEC, Lawson was the principal of the MKL Group, a full service corporate communications and public affairs consulting firm that advises clients on a host of investor, media and government relations strategies and tactics.
Lawson previously served as the director of corporate communications for Granite Construction, one of the largest transportation builders in the country. While at Granite, he developed and managed investor, media and government programs, as well as internal communications efforts for the NYSE- listed company.
Prior to joining Granite, Lawson served as the West Coast Bureau Chief for Engineering New-Record magazine, where he anchored the 130-year-old magazine’s award-winning coverage of the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake in the San Francisco Bay area and the Exxon oil spill in Valdez, Alaska.
