Chaka Patterson: Exelon Corporation
Exelon Corporations has appointed Chaka Patterson vice president of investor relations from within the company where he currently serves as associate general counsel.
The company, one of the largest electric utilities in the United States with more than $15 billion in annual revenues, said Patterson, 38, will lead an investor relations team that “serves as the primary interface with Exelon’s major institutional shareholders and Wall Street analysts.”
“Chaka brings a credentialed background and high energy to this role,” said Michael Metzner, senior vice president and treasurer, Exelon in a statement. “He has demonstrated strong leadership while at Exelon, and I am confident that he will do the same in his new role.”
Patterson joined Exelon in May 2006. He previously was chief of the Special Litigation Bureau in the Illinois attorney general’s office, and was a partner at Jenner & Block.
Patterson earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Amherst College and his law degree from Harvard University.
Patterson will report to Metzner.
Exelon distributes electricity to approximately 5.4 million customers in northern Illinois and Pennsylvania and natural gas to approximately 480,000 customers in the Philadelphia area. Exelon is headquartered in Chicago and trades on the NYSE under the ticker EXC.
