NIRI does blog seminar — shock, horror (Part 2)

By Dominic Jones

THIS IS just a bit of fun, but what the hell is up with NIRI national these days?

Not only are they offering their first webinar on blogging (shock, horror) and new media (shock, horror), but look who is speaking.

Speaker:
Debra Berliner, Managing Director, G.S. Schwartz & Co. Inc. (Moderator)
Henry Blodget, Cherry Hill Research

Speaker:
David Vinjamuri, President, ThirdWay Brand Trainers
Roger Wu, Vice President, Digital Power and Light

Yes, Henry Blodget, former high flying Merrill Lynch Internet analyst who in 2003 garnered this headline on a joint SEC, NASD and NYSE press release:

The Securities and Exchange Commission, NASD and the New York Stock Exchange Permanently Bar Henry Blodget From the Securities Industry and Require $4 Million Payment

Again — shock, horror.

Personally, I’ve long ago forgiven Henry and if I was you I’d listen to what he has to say on May 8. He now knows what it is like to be on the outside looking in, and he can tell you a lot about who actually controls your company’s message when investors don’t have direct access to talk to management.

By the way, Henry’s blog, Internet Outsider, has recently been going gangbusters. It’s also worth a look.
