Morningstar: We’ll grow Hemscott IR

MORNINGSTAR Inc. (NASDAQ:MORN), the U.S.-based investment data and research provider, says it will grow the UK investor relations business it acquired as part of its $51.6 million purchase of Hemscott, but has no immediate plans to expand the business internationally.

INVESTOR presentations on corporate websites are hugely valuable content, but they are often extraordinarily hard to use.

Dispelling the “cookie myth” around e-proxy

BROADRIDGE Financial Solutions consultants are spreading incorrect information about the SEC’s requirements regarding the use of cookies on websites hosting proxy materials.

I’ve just seen a presentation in which the Broadridge presenter says companies must provide a website that is “cookie free.” Nonsense.

U.S. regulators cut 1,000 slacker firms more slack

THIS three-month extension the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been forced to give companies so that they can become eligible for the Direct Registration System makes you wonder what else is slipping through the cracks at America’s public companies.

CEO access to the highest bidder, WTF?

SOMETHING about this story troubles me deeply.

National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) board member and Regal Entertainment Group VP of IR Don De Laria recently wrote an enthusiastic blog post detailing how a certain firm, Hanley & Associates LLC, is charging buy-side investors a fee to have one-on-one meetings with company top brass.
