I don’t get IR Magazine’s US web award winner
THIS is an open invitation to the 2,600 buy-side analysts, sell-side analysts and portfolio managers who, according to the IR Magazine US Awards, selected PF Chang’s China Bistro as having the best investor relations website for small- to mid-cap companies.
I don’t get it. What is it about the site that makes it good? As far as I can tell, there is no difference between PF Chang’s site and 70% of the other sites hosted by Thomson Financial.
It even has an empty calendar of upcoming events like 40% of other companies. Its reports are all in locked-down PDFs, there’s only one presentation posted — and there’s no IR contacts page.

So I honestly don’t get it. I’m really hoping some of you can explain it to me because it makes zero sense.
Here’s my email address or use the commenting form below to tell me what I’m missing.

It does make you wonder how they judge these things and awarding winners such as this doesn’t really set the bar very high in my opinion.
The website looks dated, it has poor design and layout, the code is not accessible at all, the navigation doesn’t lend itself to usability… I could go on.
Is that REALLY the best IR website for small to mid cap companies in the U.S.? I doubt it!

Hi Pete,
So you don’t like those cascading menus for navigation either!
I’m going to do a follow on this piece because I have some more information.
Basically, the company does deserve an award — but not for its website.
