SEC panel advises phased in XBRL
AN advisory committee of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is recommending XBRL be made mandatory for all companies, but on a staggered basis starting with the 500 largest companies for a one-year period.

An XBRL heads-up from Chairman Cox
I’M sure there are other ways to interpret a news release issued last night from Tokyo by U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox, but my reading is that it’s telegraphing that mandatory XBRL is coming next year.
SEC upgrades XBRL viewer
THE U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Interactive Financial Report Viewer, a free online utility for viewing XBRL filings, has been upgraded with new features, including a chart builder and the ability to export reports to a spreadsheet.

SEC launches XBRL viewer

THE US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a new Web-based tool that allows investors to view XBRL documents filed with the commission.
