Why financial information should never be published as images

HERE's another example of designing online IR disclosures for the people who produce them rather than for the people who actually have to use them.

Instead of hand-coding financial tables in HTML, our research of online annual reports shows that many companies and their web developers are taking a worrying shortcut by converting financial information into images like jpegs and giffs. This is like taking a photograph of your financial statements on paper and then posting the snapshots on the web.
