Facilitating reference users
Most sites are designed as reference sources for documents traditionally delivered on paper, so investor relations websites typically cater more to this motivation than the others do. However, complex sites need to make it easier for reference users find what they looking for.

People with a reference motivation use your website as their online filing cabinet. Convenience and speed are the primary reasons for using your site. They know what they want and simply want to get it as quickly as possible. Think of an analyst wanting to consult a note to the financial statements in your most recent quarter, or a financial journalist on deadline checking the spelling of the lead director's name. The Holy Grail for these users is when they get what they want with the minimum of fuss.
