earnings releases for the Web
WEBCASTS are today a core
ingredient of any self-respecting investor relations
website. And they are one of the main reasons that
investment professionals will visit your website.

Investors have less incentive to use
old webcasts, so easing common usability
barriers is vital.

In a survey released by Rivel Research Group
in January 2004, 87 percent of 200 portfolio managers
indicated that conference calls and webcasts were
the most important features on an IR website.
Other surveys have found similar high interest
in webcasts, though not as high as demand for
disclosures such as SEC filings.
However, one fact companies often overlook is
that more people typically access the webcast
after the event is over than are on the live broadcast.
This is an important point because there is a
world of difference between the format and usability
requirements of live and archived webcasts.
