Many IR websites still snubbing Firefox users
Most companies wouldnt
dream of turning customers away because they
drive a particular make of car or wear one brand
of shoes over another. How people get to the
store to buy their goods doesnt matter.
All that matters is that they buy the companys
products.
So why then do so many companies discriminate
against investors who use Firefox and other
non-mainstream browsers?
Well, because they either lack knowledge or
are negligent.
In an update to an article we first wrote in
April last year, we highlight some of the common
problems Firefox users are experiencing on investor
relations websites, including some award-winning
sites.
Thomson Financial, which hosts thousands
of IR websites in the United States, is a major
offender here. Many of its sites dont
work the way they should for Firefox users.
And despite much publicity surrounding the
issue of cross-browser compatibility, we find
that even new sites are being designed
in ways that cause problems for Firefox users.
