Many IR websites still snubbing Firefox users

Most companies wouldn’t dream of turning customers away because they drive a particular make of car or wear one brand of shoes over another. How people get to the store to buy their goods doesn’t matter. All that matters is that they buy the company’s products.

So why then do so many companies discriminate against investors who use Firefox and other non-mainstream browsers?

Well, because they either lack knowledge or are negligent.

In an update to an article we first wrote in April last year, we highlight some of the common problems Firefox users are experiencing on investor relations websites, including some award-winning sites.

Thomson Financial, which hosts thousands of IR websites in the United States, is a major offender here. Many of its sites don’t work the way they should for Firefox users.

And despite much publicity surrounding the issue of cross-browser compatibility, we find that even new sites are being designed in ways that cause problems for Firefox users.
